How to Fix Writer’s Block and Write A Truly Great Content

keyboard-909156_1920.jpgHave you ever wondered why it seems so difficult to continue to write that book you have always wanted to write or write that great content on your website? you might think it is hard to write because you haven’t done enough research on your topic and you continue to make more research upon research and get to the point of writing still not able to write. Guess what?  It’s not happening to you only.

The condition you are facing is called writer’s block. A condition that is faced by many great writers but who have only become great after they overcome theirs’.  Now I will show you how you can fix your writers block and churn out great content.

  • Have enough Information:  You can actually get blocked if4 you haven’t made your research before sitting down to write because the information in the first place is not there,But it doesn’t mean also that if you have gathered enough information you can’t have writer’s block as well.  You make sure you’ve gathered enough information about what you wanted to write. I don’t mean you should memorize every bit of what you gathered.what I simply mean is that you should have enough information about it and if you were asked a question or two on the topic you would be able to give satisfactory answer.
  • Use the friend-advice technique: Now that you already have at least some Information about what you wanted to write.  Go to your website dashboard or if you are writing on a piece of paper bring out your and paper and do this:

At the point that you want to start writing,Imagine one of those times whereby you are sitting with your best friend relaxing at some place, maybe your house and he/she asks for an advice or a solution to a pain point problem from you. Assuming the problem is what you have gathered information about. How are your going to answer him/her.

Now start writing…just start simply…write the same way  you would bfriend advicing friende talking to your best friend, you continue writing until you are satisfied with the answer which you gave your best friend, you know talking to your best friend, you would show real sympathy, really want to solve the problem with your advice and make it simple as much as possible so he can quickly grasp it,you wouldn’t want to appear like you are lecturing him/her…

Using this technique will not only help you to overcome your writer’s block but also write out a truly great quality content that converts or book which delivers and also,It is going to help you discover your true voice.

Never lose the focus that you are talking to your best friend so you won’t go off rail.

  4. I suffer from two separate forms of writers’ block depending on the type of writing I’m doing.

Non-fiction- If I’m writing something non-fictional like for my blog, or something for a freelance project, sometimes it may be that I don’t know what to write about or how to get started. It’s really frustrating for me when that happens but it’s easier to deal with than

Fictional- when I want to write a script or a story, I usually do know what I want to write but there’s something there that doesn’t know how to put thoughts into words. How to paint the picture I want. The worry that what I’m writing is complete garbage.

I find that it’s easier to write when I’m talking to a friend or someone about my idea at the exact same time. Also while listening to music. I’m a planner so I think a lot before I write fictional works, but when it comes to non-fiction I’m more of an on the spot kind of guy.

The problem with me thinking is that I suffer from what I call “brain crack addiction” where I’m too used to thinking about the idea that I never ever get down to writing it.

  5. I think my biggest problems with writer’s block comes from two things

    1. I tend to spend way too much time planning and not enough time actually writing it down. It becomes a sort of addiction to the thoughts if you will. This happens more with personal fictional writing than it does with non-fiction writing for my blog or anything else.

    2. I often have trouble figuring out what I want to write. This is a problem more for my blog or freelance work than for fictional writing.

    1. Hii jay,
I totally understand what you meant.
I’ve been there before.Like I said earlier. The best way to approach writer’s block is the Friend-advice technique.Just sit back, relax.Imagine it’s your friend you want to talk to then start writing slowly. It’ll sure cures it.
      THanks jay.

  6. I agree that not having enough information beforehand can give a writer pause. Another aspect I heard about writer’s block is that it can be a matter of confidence too. Creator’s block in general happens when the maker is worried about whether or not their work is “good enough”. Research, second opinions and not worrying about critics, is indeed a sure way to churn out some writing.

  7. Ohhhh I hate writers block! Isn’t it frustrating! I’ve had it a bit myself lately, which is why I haven’t done a whole lot of writing. Researching is a good idea! You can get some great ideas for content from others sites and often information that you would not have thought of!

  8. Hi! I do kinda go through writers block from time to time. To help, if I’m talking about a particular subject I do approach it as if I’m trying to give advice to a friend. I think that’s a great point that you’ve made. It makes it more fun and engaging to write as well as to read. No one likes been sold to, but being genuine like you’re helping a friend is the key.
